CALIFORNIA HERITAGE SINCE 1974

Originally founded in 1974, Music Man built its name leading an industry revolution, introducing active electronics on its production instruments. As part of the team during the 70’s, Sterling Ball played an important role on the design and development of the iconic StingRay basses.

Officially purchasing the company in 1984, Sterling, joined later by his sons Scott and Brian, has built a team of dedicated professionals who collectively share a common goal: building the highest level of hand-crafted instruments available. Shipping to more than 135 countries from the Central Coast of California, the brand continues to expand its reach worldwide based on the strict quality standards, innovative design and the finest craftsmanship it is known for.

1974年に創立されたミュージックマンは、その製品にアクティブ回路を初めて導入するといった

業界の革命をリードすることによってその名を馳せました。

スターリン・ボールは、７０年代のチームの一員として、

有名なスティグレイ・ベースの設計と開発に重要な役割を果たしました。

1984年に正式にミュージックマンを買収した後、スターリンは、

息子のスコットとブライアンを加え、可能な限り最高のレベルのハンドクラフトの楽器を作る

というゴールを共有する専属プロフェッショナルのチームを作ったのです。

ミュージックマン・ブランドは、カリフォルニアのセントラルコーストから

135カ国以上に出荷されおり、定評ある厳しい品質基準、革新的なデザイン

最高級のクラフトマンシップによって世界中になおも拡がり続けています。

サスティーン、サウンド・レスポンスやトーンに影響を与える要素の一つとして”重量”に着目し、ボディの材料選定だけでなく、コンター・デザインを取り入れたり、ハードウェアのマテリアルやデザインを見直すことで、優れたバランスと軽量化に成功しました。

２２フレットまでの演奏性を高めたラウンドカットのネック・ジョイント部。ローステッド・メイプル・ネックとアッシュ・ボディのジョイントは、ネック・ジョイント・プレートが採用され、5点のボルトで強固にジョイントされています。

ローステッドメイプルは独自の方法で熱を加えることにより、湿度や温度の環境の変化に対して、反りやねじれなどに強い安定性と耐久性を実現しています。また、木材の比重を抑え、軽量化と頑丈さを両立し、エイジングされた木材の様な鳴りも魅力です。さらに、構造上発生する微妙なイントネーションの狂いを補正するコンぺンセイテッド・ナットを採用しています。
